InAC, when you set the rotation to 900 (or even 1080 if you have such a wheel), all the cars will have their own 'factory rotation' which will adjust automagically. IE. most road cars will have that 900 usually (not that you ever need to turn that far really), race cars will have say around 540 rotation, F1's even lower etc. #9.
Afterstarting AC there are launched two programs: 1.) Assetto Corsa Launcher (assettocorsa.exe) 2.) That fixed the detection, and I set the wheel up, it shows the wheel rotating etc. When I launch the game though the wheel will not steer. The buttons work. The pedals work. The gears shift. But no steering. Any ideas?

Guess I'll have to refund this. Edit: Actually deleting those ini files in Assetto Corsa\cfg\controllers - not the presets - as the OP stated in his second post - fixed my issue. I know there is a "fix" for this problem by using an app such as X-Padder But out of the 20 or so simulators that I own and use on my PC, Assetto Corsa is the ONLY ONE that does not recognize the d-pad input.

Instead use your regular controller to load up a practice session. Click drive to be sent out of the pits and then click start to go in to the menu.
Theres 3 tabs in the top right reading "Input method" above them. Click on the "wheel / custom" tab there, not the "xbox 360 gamepad" one. Still kinda sucks because you need to bind the right stick to handbrake and clutch,
